Training session A training session has been conducted by the bank of 4 team members. In this session, each team member has demonstrated the role played small business client. The team leader of the session is responsible for describing the requirement of role, organization policy, and procedures to support performances. Hence the customer has filed a complaint regarding the bank, which he is highly dissatisfied from the performances of the bank, and if his issues are not resolved, then he will bound to switch his account to another bank (Kelly services, 2017). The employees of the session have learnt to be patient while acknowledging the problem of client. According to them, the client was very aggressive; hence he was not ready to accept any answer from the bank employee team. However it has been encountered that in the month of January 2017, the interest amount has not been credit in the client account. This was due to political issues and formation of new rules and regulations by Basel III and IV norms in finance market. It was also found out, that the ATMs have not been working properly. Hence the bank has considered the issue and would be repaired soon (Legal service commission). Conclusion By analyzing over the training session conducted by the bank, it can be concluded that there was partly mistake of the bank and partly due to slow rulings of banking regulations. The bank has considered its mistake and satisfied the customer by providing him sympathy. During a journey testing his faith, a traveler, the devil, is able to use Browns naivete against him. After the devil has his way with Goodman Browns mind, Brown is never again able to trust even his wife, who is aptly named Faith, let alone anyone else. Browns view on humanity there on is one of deceit. This story has numerous associations with symbolism including the story of Goodman Brown himself, his wife Faith and her pink ribbons, the traveler he meets, and the journey he takes. His name Young Goodman Brown makes reference to him as being a young and a good person. Then Hawthorne gives him such a common last name that it relates him to any and everybody. The idea that it would be anyone or everybody symbolizes that it was a reference to all society. In spite of his name, there is no proof that Goodman Brown was ever a good person at all. Throughout his whole journey in the forest, he never makes the argument that he should stop because it is morally wrong. Brown most likely only resists during the ceremony because he realizes that his sins will be exposed. Faith, Browns wife and her pink ribbons are used as symbols throughout the story. Her pink ribbons symbolize her youth, innocence and purity, and her name symbolizes her husbands childlike spirituality at the beginning of the story. The name Faith is symbolic of Browns lost hope. When he says, My love and my Faith, he is using his wife as a symbol and is really referring to his love and faith in God. He goes on to say this one night I must tarry away from thee. He means that he must part from his faith in God to carry on with his journey. He also says to the devil, Faith kept me back awhile and is making reference to a higher being that is trying to keep him from making his journey by delaying it. When Brown finds the pink ribbon that his wife was wearing lying in the forest he says, my faith is gone that is referring to himself as losing his faith in God. This quote has multiple meanings because after seeing all the pious and godly figures of his town turned to evil he has lost his faith in the all the inhabitants of his world except his Faith and now theyve got her too. If he can believe that his wife can have this secret presence of evil inside her, there is no hope for anyone else to gain his trust. Brown tells himself that the Devil will not take hold of his faith although he has to keep reassuring himself. The traveler is symbolic of the devil and Goodman Browns dark side. When Goodman enters the dark forest it is as if the forest is a palette where the devil can paint images to cloud and tempt the faith of Goodman Brown. In the forest he meets up with a second traveler, about fifty years old, apparently in the same rank as Goodman Brown, and bearing considerable resemblance to him. The second traveler is portrayed as the devil. He carries with him a staff, which bore the likeness of a great black snake. Snakes of course signify the devil, making the reader think he represents a devilish symbol. The staff, which looked like a snake, symbolizes the snake in the story of Adam and Eve. The snake led Adam and Eve to their destruction by leading them to the Tree of Knowledge, just as Brown is being led to unfathomed knowledge by the devil, and in turn is being led to his destruction. Just like Adam and Eve, when Brown finds the fountain of all wicked arts his faith is exiled from him just a s Adam and Eve were cast from the garden. The devil tells him about how his grandfather and his father had done all these atrocities with the help of the devil. Upon hearing this Goodman Brown has lost faith in his father and grandfather. The devil then moves on to others that are significant in Goodman Browns life. Goodman Brown is being made to believe that everyone is inherently evil and that their piousness is only a faade for their covert interactions with the devil. He imagines himself seeing Goody Cloyse, and influential spiritual advisor that taught him his catechism cavorting with the devil. He is seeing what he wants to see. The devil is making all his sub-conscious suspicions come alive in this venture into the dark forest. He is being made to suspect everyone, his grandfather, father, the minister, Deacon Gookin, and even his wife Faith. Instead of bravely battling down the dangers of the forest and emerging a more mature person, Goodman Brown emerges a ruined man. The story, which may have been a dream, and not a real life event, planted the seed of doubt in Browns mind, which him to lose his faith in his fellow man and leaves him alone and depressed. His life ends alone and miserable because he was never able to look at himself and realize that what he believed were everyone elses faults were his as well, and this led to his isolation from the community. Brown was buried with no hopeful verse upon his tombstone; for his dying hour was gloom.Enlightenment can impact great wisdom, but only those minds, which are open to receiving it. People Led District Disaster Management Essay Soon after the Orissa Cyclone and thereafter the Gujarat earthquake the Government of India prioritized a national policy on disaster management and advocated a change of direction from a post disaster reactive approach to a proactive stance before the occurrence of disasters, provided a new legal framework and greater harmonization of disaster management efforts. The policy set forth principles (including significant community role and active civil society participation), objectives (including emphasis on prevention, DRR and promoting regional and national cooperation), strategies and provisions for promoting inter-sectoral complementarities. The Disaster Management Act 2005, mandates National, States and district authorities to develop policy, guidelines, plans for proper implementation of Disaster management plans to reduce adverse impact on communities and to facilitate timely and effective response. It stresses upon inclusion of mitigation, preparedness and DRR measures into development. As a result SDMAs in various states initiated development of district disaster management plans. However, some plans were merely a collection of contact phone numbers of important authorities and departments from the district. There were significant gaps in these operational plans mainly due to non availability of a standard framework, lack of expertise and dedicated resources. Lack of community participation and that of relevant stakeholders in the preparation process has resulted in lack of ownership among intended users and beneficiaries. Disasters tend to happen to people at risk. People are at risk because they are vulnerable to hazards. This vulnerability can be best reduced by increasing people’s capacities to deal with underlying social, cultural and physical factors. The key to successful disaster management plan is to ensure involvement of people who are victims and who are at risk or could be potential victims. If this is not practiced it is often unsustainable, costly and ineffective. Most DDMPs in the country lacked participation of affected communities and civil society. A participatory community level disaster management involves a cross section of people in the design and development process of the plan. When local people develop these plans there is more interest, greater ownership and understanding resulting in successfully reducing suffering and losses. The key principles of this approach thus are: * Community themselves are best placed to prioritize threats and take effective risk reducing actions. The best time to reduce the impact of disasters is before the next disasters occur. Hence, preventive actions should be integral part of the effective disaster management plan. * The identification and mapping of hazards along with who and what may be affected is necessary before risk reduction plans can be made. * Progress has to be well publicized to maintain interest and strengthen the culture of disaster reduction. An example of this is found in the recent NDMA/SDMA collaboration with civil society coming together to develop community led DDMP in Madhubani. One of the basic highlights of the Madhubani DDMP process is that though it oriented towards response but it also incorporates reduction and prevention thrust. Incidentally, prevention has been recognized as an important aspect of DDMP by the district and state/SDMA but also in the poverty reduction strategy. As a result of DDMP several agencies/departments in Madhubani have shown willingness to incorporate prevention measures in their regulations, such as the building codes by the town planners that regulate development of settlements. It was encouraging to note high level of commitment from various stakeholders to improving DRR mechanism. Tearfund has been working along with its partners to lobby with governments at all levels for influencing the policies and development of effective people friendly plans. The Madhubani DRR project implemented by its partner organisation EFICOR in 30 villages in Madhubani was instrumental in development of pilot District Disaster Management Plan (DDMP) along with support from SPHERE India. The strength of this pilot has been the process it has embarked upon wherein involvement and participation of all level of stakeholders from community to district/state/national government authorities in development process of this DDMP. In view of intensive involvement of all relevant stakeholders the pilot has received good response and acceptance from the NDMA and SDMA. This is considered as the first ever attempt in developing a DDMP which has come up from the active involvement of first respondent in any natural disasters. As mentioned above the thrust of development of DDMP is that it is being developed involving affected community, hence, the approach has been bottom-up, however at the same time, all relevant stakeholders, be it government departments or the NGOs and other actors have been involved and participated at all stages of development of the plan. This is truly a plan developed by the people and for the people. This plan has also influenced many other civil socieities to take up similar preparations for other districts and states with the support of NDMA.
